I am a dedicated and experienced fitness professional. Born and raised in Edinburgh, I studied for three years at Edinburgh’s Telford College and hold these sports and fitness qualifications:
I joined the fitness industry straight from college in 1997, and within two years had advanced to become Fitness Manager at The Edinburgh Club – at that time the capital’s largest and arguably most successful gym, where I led a team of six instructors. I remained at The Edinburgh Club until its closure in 2003. Currently I am the manager of George Kerr's, The Club where I train my clients.
I have always been passionate about sport. I played football competitively as a schoolboy, and as a teenager was diverted towards running. At college I played and studied a wide variety of sports including volleyball, badminton and hockey. I still run for pleasure, and to partner clients who enjoy running outdoors as part of their training programme. Weight training and PowerPlate are also part of my weekly exercise routine.
Running is still my main sport, although I also make time for golf. We are lucky to have in Edinburgh so many beautiful parks and open spaces in which to run, and I encourage clients to make running in the open air part of their weekly fitness regime.
